Hatchet golfers host Regional meet at Inshalla

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet golf team hosted a Regional meet at Inshalla Country Club on Tuesday, May 24.

The Hatchets ultimately placed in 9th out of 9 teams with a team score of 382.

“As a team, that was our best score of the year,” said coach Garth Gerstenberger. “It was nice to see our improvement throughout the season.”

Sawyer Hanna was Tomahawk’s top golfer with a score of 85. Gerstenberger noted that Hanna played his best round of golf ever and came up one stroke short of advancing to the Sectional meet.

Team results: Medford 321, Hayward 333, Antigo 337, Northwestern 337, Ashland 356, Spooner 357, Northland Pines 359, Rice Lake 359, Tomahawk 382.

Individual Hatchet results: Sawyer Hanna 85, Austin Lamer 95, Owen Dickrell 97, Gavyn Palmer 105, Drew Albert 106.
