For the Tomahawk Leader

MERRILL – Lincoln County recently hired its new Veterans Services Officer.

John Olson will fill the role after it had been vacant for several months. Former Veterans Service Officer Pam Schotz assisted in the transition.

Olson

Olson introduced himself during the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors’ meeting on Tuesday, May 17.

Olson, an Antigo native, spent 26 years in the Marine Corps. He has lived in the Wausau area for the last six years.

“This is probably one of the few times you’ll ever hear me talk about myself, because in my role, I know that I’m just one of many veterans, specifically here in Lincoln County,” Olson said. “I’m dedicated to providing the customer service I can to our veterans.”
