School board: Huseby reelected; Skubal, Swenty win seats

TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk Board of Education will see one incumbent return and two new members join following the Tuesday, April 5 Spring Election.

Although members are elected to represent specific areas of the district, voters throughout the district had the opportunity to vote in both races.

City of Tomahawk

Two seats representing the City of Tomahawk were up for grabs, with incumbent Richard “Dick” Huseby, Bob Skubal, Lonny Calhoun and Doug Turner running and the top two vote-getters ultimately being elected to the board.

According to preliminary results, Skubal garnered the most votes with 1,847, securing a seat on the board.

Huseby tallied the second-most votes, earning 1,588 on his way to reelection.

Calhoun finished with 1,527 votes, just 61 fewer than Huseby.

Turner came away 936 votes.

Towns of Little Rice, Nokomis and Wilson

In the race for the seat representing the Towns of Little Rice, Nokomis and Wilson, Ann Swenty ultimately emerged victorious over Mandy Street.

Swenty garnered 1,966 votes (roughly 59%), while Street tallied 1,350 (approximately 41%), according to preliminary results.
