Melvin H. Wurm, age 90, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Melvin was born on March 9, 1932 to the late Harold and Rose Ann Wurm. He married Mavis (Sann) Wurm on July 9, 1957.
Melvin loved to hunt, fish, shoot pool and bowl. He enjoyed taking out the pontoon with family and friends. He especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the beach on Lake Nokomis.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mavis (Sann) Wurm, children Dave (Sheila) Wurm, Pamela (Steve) Boettcher, Jeff (Sandy) Wurm, grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Lynnea, Gavin, Paula, Sara, Amy, Eric and Alex, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and his sibling Marion Burrows.
Preceding Melvin in death are his parents Harold and Rose Wurm, son Brian, and great-grandchild Hannah.
Friends and family gathered at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, starting at 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, with Pastor Damon Brog officiating. Military Honors followed.
The family would like to thank St Paul Elder Services for their care and compassion of Melvin in his final days.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
