TOMAHAWK – Music on the River (MOR) recently announced its 2022 lineup, marking the 15th iteration of Tomahawk’s weekly summer concert series.Music on the River

Concerts will be held on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Tomahawk. The concerts are free and open to the public.

“Concert attendees are invited to come by car, foot or boat and bring lawn chairs, picnic suppers, coolers, family, neighbors and friends,” MOR stated.

In the event of rain, concerts will be held at the SARA Park indoor arena.

This year’s slate of performers features new acts, as well as returning favorites.

The Cougars will kick off the concert series on June 22, according to MOR’s Facebook page.

“Green Bay is the home base for this six-piece variety band,” MOR said. “They are fronted by three lead female vocalists. Their specialty is high-energy songs with lots of harmonies. They are known for their variety in music from the last few decades, including a bit of country and some fun party songs.”

On June 29, the Jerry Schmit Band will take the stage. MOR noted that Schmit, a Nashville recording artist, and his band have become “one of the premier country artists/bands in the United States.”

The group features “a blend of modern and traditional country music with a rockabilly influence.”

“Their sound appeals to young and old alike, and their love of performing and dedication to preserving traditional country music makes each of their shows a unique experience for their fans,” MOR said.

Unity the Band, a group with “their own unique sound, fronted with island-smooth energetic confidence,” is slated to perform on July 6.

“Unity promises to provide a style of music like no other, giving entertainment like no other, with a large dose of reggae, a hint of gospel, a splash of roots, and a pinch of jazz,” MOR stated.

Returning favorites Hip Pocket will bring their striking leads and four-part harmony vocals back to the MOR stage on July 13.

“This nine-member band will be playing your favorite top 40, R&B, Latin-infusion, jazz, pop, modern, and classic rock hits, from nine months to 90 years and every age in between,” MOR said.

The WhiskeyBelles, a traditional country and Americana trio from Milwaukee, will perform on July 20.

“The Belles are widely known for captivating shows featuring their own take on classic and obscure vintage-country, Americana, folk-revival, and roots-country tunes, with their own witty originals sprinkled in,” MOR said. “The Belles have personalities as big as the Texan skyline – they have a great time on stage and love to share the fun with their audience.”

Ember is slated to wrap up the concert series on July 27.

“Ember has quickly established themselves as a crowd favorite, performing everywhere from local venues, resorts, and casinos to warming up the stage for national acts,” MOR said, adding that the band “brings a fun party atmosphere with their dance-driven renditions of popular rock and country hits.”
