Rosemary ‘Rosie’ J. Lawrence

Rosemary “Rosie” J. Lawrence, age 66, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Aspirus Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Rosie was born in Tomahawk on May 28, 1955, to the late William and Edna Radtke.

Rosie was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk and a 1974 graduate of the Tomahawk High School. After graduation, Rosie entered the workforce, beginning employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Riverview Nursing Home. She later worked at IGA and the Corner Mart, where she was known for her outgoing personality. She truly loved meeting and talking with people and always had a smile on her face. Rosie was formerly married to Ricky Lawrence and lovingly raised their children. She enjoyed road trips on their custom-made tricycle, playing bingo at Sara Park, going to the soup kitchen, and was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. Rosie loved to be wherever her children and grandchildren were and cherished the time she spent with each of them.

Survivors include her children, Owen Lawrence, of Tomahawk, Justin Lawrence, of Antigo, Wis., and Samuel Lawrence, Christina Lillie, and Nicole Smith, all of Tomahawk; her brothers, Gary (Debbie) Radtke, of Waukesha, Wis., and Bill (Donna) Radtke, of Irma, Wis.; her sister, Kathy (Larry) Johnson, of Riverview, Fla.; and her best friend, Pat Oelke.

Rosie is further survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Lawrence, Joseph Lawrence, Hunter Lawrence, Rebecca Towne, Gage Spencer, Emily Lawrence, James Lawrence, Olivia Smith-Lawrence, Peyton Lillie-Lawrence, and Abigail Ross; in addition to many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edna; her brothers, Albert Radtke, John Radtke, and Harold Radtke; and her foster mother, Birdie Hirsch.

Memorial services for Rosemary Lawrence were held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk, at 11 a.m. Rev. Larry Mathein officiated. The family received friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. To honor Rosie, Packers or Brewers clothing was encouraged. Inurnment will be held at the Spirit-Hillcrest Cemetery later in the spring.
