David C. Hildebrand, age 79, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Country Terrace Assisted Living under the care of Compassus Hospice. David was born in Tomahawk on May 5, 1942, to the late Edward and Muriel (L’Abbe) Hildebrand.
David was a 1960 graduate of the Tomahawk High School and a 1962 graduate of the Wausau Technical Institute. After college, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. David moved to Ohio, where he worked for General Electric for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a talented figure skater who traveled the country performing in ice shows. David’s love for skating gave him the opportunity to travel extensively, visiting every state capitol along the way. He was an avid music and Buddy Holly fan, attending the annual Buddy Holly Memorial Tribute in Clear Lake, Iowa.
Survivors include his brother, Thomas Hildebrand; his sister, Roberta Meyer; and his brother-in-law, Jack Leggett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Muriel; his sister, Judy Leggett; his brother-in-law, “Spike” Meyer; and his sister-in-law, Gloria Hildebrand.
