State Patrol identifies Eagle River woman killed in crash on Hwy. 8 northwest of Tomahawk

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Wisconsin State Patrol identified an Eagle River woman who was killed in a crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 8 northwest of Tomahawk last week.

According to a release, at 7:49 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Hwy. 8 at McCord Rd. The release said the driver of a black 2001 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound when it crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound semi-tractor trailer unit.

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, identified by the State Patrol as Amber L. Shea, 22, of Eagle River, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

The driver of the semi, identified as Kenneth W. Bunescu, 61, of DeKalb, Ill., was not injured.

U.S. Hwy. 8 was closed for several hours due to the crash investigation.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
