Robert ‘Bob’ A. Zapar

Robert “Bob” A. Zapar, age 75, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 18, 1946, to the late Robert and Lillian (Kidawa) Zapar. He graduated from Lane Tech High School. In 1966, he was married to Sharon Fritz; she survives.

Bob was employed at Oscar Mayer Company in the maintenance department from Jan. 1967 until Dec. 1992, when the company closed. In Jan. of 1993, they moved to Tomahawk, where they had vacationed for many years. Bob then was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital from Sept. of 1994 until his retirement in Sept. of 2010. Bob enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and boating. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, which were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sharon Zapar; his daughters, Sherry Zapar and Kim Zapar; his grandchildren, Billy Zapar and Brandon Zapar; his “special little ones,” his great-grandchildren, Mason, Addisyn, Ava, and Cali Zapar; his sister, Donna (Dennis) Wilewski; and his brothers-in-law, Jim (Annette) Fritz and Bob (Mary) Fritz; his nieces and nephews, especially Amy, who always brightened his day and kept his spirits high, and Jerry and Bonnie Blanton. Bob is further survived by Paul and Chris and friends at the Gin Mill, and dear friend, Mr. Kim Ice, of Colorado.
