Middle school wrestling: Hatchets host invitational, scramble

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet middle school wrestling team recently hosted an invitational and a scramble.

Tomahawk Invitational

The middle school grapplers hosted their annual invitational on Saturday, Feb. 12.

The teams participating with Tomahawk were Antigo, Crandon, DC Everest, Elcho, John Muir, Lakeland, Medford, Neillsville and Three Lakes. No team scores were kept

Hatchet placements are as follows: Bradyn Ristau, Masen Towle and Zander Zehner, first place; Walter Horabik and Kaiden Kapellusch, second; and Judah Alberg, Hudson Evans, Colton McMeekin and Cash Olsen, third.

Middle School Scramble

The Hatchets returned to the mats on Monday, Feb. 14, when they hosted the annual Tomahawk Middle School Scramble at Hatchet Fieldhouse.

Other participating teams were Auburndale, Merrill, Marshfield, Stratford, Three Lakes, Florence, and Chequamegon. No team scores were kept.

Alberg, Hudson Evans, Skylar Harper-Dahlvig, Kaiden Kapellusch, Bradyn Ristau, Masen Towle and Zander Zehner each came away with at least one victory on the night.

The middle school Hatchet grapplers will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 22, when they travel to Marshfield Middle School. Wrestling will get underway at 4:15 p.m.
