Middle school wrestlers rack up wins in Wisconsin Rapids, Tomahawk

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Tomahawk Hatchet middle school wrestling team competed in Wisconsin Rapids and Tomahawk last week.

Wisconsin Rapids scramble

The Tomahawk Hatchet middle school wrestling team traveled to Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, Feb. 8 for a six-team scramble.

Other participating teams were Wisconsin Rapids, D.C. Everest, Edgar, John Muir Blue and Merrill. No team scores were kept.

Hatchets earning at least one win on the night were Judah Alberg, Hudson Evans, Skylar Harper-Dahlivig, Colton McMeekin, Cash Olsen, Bradyn Ristau, Uriyah Tebeau, Mason Towle and Zander Zehner.

Tomahawk Invite

The middle school Hatchet grapplers were back in action on Saturday, Feb. 12, when they hosted the Tomahawk Invite.

The nine teams were involved in the tournament were Antigo, Crandon, DC Everest, Elcho, John Muir, Lakeland, Medford, Neillsville, Three Lakes, and Tomahawk. There were no team scores kept.

Hatchet placements are as follows:

First place – Bradyn Ristau, Masen Towle, Zander Zehner; second –Walter Horabik, Kaiden Kapellusch; third – Judah Alberg, Hudson Evans, Colton McMeekin, Cash Olsen.

The middle school Hatchet grapplers were slated to be back in action on Monday, Feb. 14, when they were set to host the annual Tomahawk Middle School Scramble.
