James Felix Keskinen

James Felix Keskinen, age 82, of Fond du Lac, Wis., and formerly of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Jim was born in Merrill, Wis., on Sept. 13, 1939, to the late Felix and Laina (Mattson) Keskinen.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Tomahawk High School. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961 and was stationed in Alaska. After his service, he began his career as a machinist for Kearney and Trecker in Milwaukee, Wis. Later, he moved his family back to the Tomahawk area and then on to Oshkosh, Wis. Throughout his life, he enjoyed attending his sons’ and grandsons’ sporting events, volunteering in Boy Scouts, deer hunting, fishing, and going to local stock car races. During retirement, he enjoyed his time as a member of the American Legion and the Tomahawk Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary (Gunnar) Dieckmann, of Huron, S.D.; and his sons, Joe (Jan) Keskinen, of Pewaukee, Wis., Matt Keskinen, of Oshkosh, Wis., and Phil (Jeanne) Keskinen, of Neosho, Wis.; his brothers, Arthur (Marie) Keskinen, of Tomahawk, and Charlie (Jolyn) Keskinen, of Cascade, Wis.; proud grandfather of Rachel and Moses Dieckmann, Nate and Josh Keskinen, and Drew and Calvin Keskinen.

A memorial service for James Keskinen will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk. Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
