Virginia ‘Gini’ K. Labensky

Virginia “Gini” K. Labensky, age 85, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, in Cudahy, Wis., under the care of her family and Compassus Hospice. Gini was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on July 10, 1936, to the late William and Edith (St. Clair) Martin. She was married to Kenneth Labensky on April 17, 1968; he preceded her in death in December of 2009.

Gini graduated from the Tripoli High School and later entered the workforce. She retired after many years of employment at Roadway Freight, in Oak Creek, Wis., where she was a talented OS & D Clerk.

She loved gardening and putzing in the yard, crossword puzzles, drawing, visits to the casino, and enjoyed traveling with her husband, particularly in the western part of the country. Above all, Gini cherished time spent with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Duane (Sue) Labensky and Ken (Rosie) Labensky; her grandchildren, C.J., Kyle, Cody, and Beth; her siblings, Mary (Jim) Starke, Phyllis (Dan) Tuchalski, Karen (Larry) Jurgens, Michaelene (Ken) Boswell, Richard Martin, and Patrick (Sandra) Martin. Gini is further survived by other family members and friends as well as her dear friends, Terry and Patty Hurst, whom she adored. She touched many lives and she will be greatly missed.

Gini was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith; her siblings, Joseph (Jennie) Martin,William (Judith) Martin; and her grandson, Kenny Labensky Jr.

Memorial services for Virginia Labensky will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m.
