Ogema Public Library to be ‘virtual oasis’ throughout January

For the Tomahawk Leader

OGEMA – Throughout January, the Ogema Public Library, W5005 Hwy. 86, Ogema, will be a “virtual Oasis for its users’ senses.”

“Bright, full-spectrum sunshine, colorful flora and fauna, ukulele and kalimba music, movies, books, kits, take-and-make projects, fruity refreshments and fun programming will place all who enter the library’s doors into a tropical environment,” a release from the library said.

Sophia, the Ogema Public Library’s mascot, will greet and direct visitors with her cheerful countenance and vacation apparel to Ogema’s Oasis in the library entry.

The library said that those who choose to do curbside in the cubbies provided in the vestibule will still be treated to the refreshing atmosphere of warmth and color. Creative take-and-make craft projects for kids, older kids and adults will also be available there.

“A delicious treat for the eyes surprise awaits!” the library stated.

Many new movies, books and children’s ukuleles and kalimbas kits can be checked out to practice and learn to play sweet music. Sand with magnetic texture can be played with as well.

“Climb aboard our ship to sail to the South Seas in the library,” the library said.

Hula hoop and limbo contests with swimming prizes will be going on all month for kids and kids at heart

“So, treat yourself by coming to the Ogema library and check us out!” the library said.
