League of Women Voters meeting to focus on climate change’s impact on Northwoods

For the Tomahawk Leader

NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The January meeting of the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods (LWVNOW) will focus on climate change and how it affects northern Wisconsin.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held virtually on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m.

John Bates, a professional naturalist, author and columnist, will share his knowledge and insight regarding the impact of climate change in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.

“The science of climate change can become highly technical and fly well over most people’s heads,” a release from LWVNOW said. “But it can be brought down to earth in terms of the trees and birds and mammals and fish that are already being affected, and will be far more affected into the future.”
