Recently-integrated Aspirus Health locations adopt new names

For the Tomahawk Leader

WISCONSIN – The hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and other facilities that recently joined Aspirus Health from Ascension Wisconsin adopted their new names on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

The former Ascension Wisconsin hospitals and clinics, along with 2,700 employees, joined Aspirus on Aug. 1, 2021.

The former Aspirus Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk is now called Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital. Former Ascension locations in Merrill, Rhinelander, Eagle River and other northern and central Wisconsin communities now also reflect the Aspirus brand.

“Also included on this list is the former Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital, which will be named Aspirus Plover Hospital to better reflect its geographic location and avoid confusion with the new Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital (formerly Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital),” Aspirus noted.

In addition to the hospital name changes, many clinics, pharmacies and other former Ascension facilities also adopted new names on Dec. 1, Aspirus said.
