Lois A. Gould Vangalis Brown

Lois A. Gould Vangalis Brown, age 81, of Tomahawk, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at her home under the care of her family and Compassus Hospice. Lois was born in Wausau, Wis., on July 18, 1940, to the late Norris and Ann (Ullmer) Gould. She was first married to Aaron Vangalis and separated in 1965. She married Donald Brown on Jan. 31, 2004; he passed away in 2019.

Lois attended grade school in Schofield, Wis., and was a graduate of the D.C. Everest High School. She furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin and Northcentral Technical College. Lois was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron and the Ladies of the Elks, and she volunteered with the Habitat for Humanity. She loved her home, where she would cuddle with her pets and enjoyed cooking and reading. Lois also enjoyed traveling to many places in the country, as well as abroad.

Survivors include her sons, Nickolas (June) Vangalis, John (Kristine) Vangalis, and Matthew Vangalis (Marjorie Gessler); her daughter, Victoria (Randy) Vangalis Zepp; her stepchildren, Douglas (Robin) Brown, Donda (Thomas) Pegenau, Doreen Brown, and Darlene Grant; her brother, Thomas Gould; and her sister, Barbara (Don) Sheppard. Lois also leaves behind her loving dog, Molly, and cat, Oscar.

Lois is further survived by 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris and Ann; her husband, Donald Brown; her brothers, Perry Gould and Norbert Gould; and her sister, Nancy Gould.

A celebration of life gathering for Lois Brown will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the Town of Nokomis.
