Hatchet cross country team holds Awards Night ceremony

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet cross country team held its Awards Night ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 18, honoring athletes for their various accomplishments over the course of the2021 season.

Award recipients are as follows:

Rookies of the Year: Sam Zastrow (boys) and Alli Palmer (girls)

Most Improved: Brett Borchardt (varsity boys), Taje Casey (JV boys), Robin Schmidt (varsity girls) and Marie Gorell (JV girls)

Coaches’ Awards: Jacob Towle (boys) and Ava Dragosh (girls)

Scholar Athletes: Arden Ziert (boys); Arawen Alberg, Macey Mann, and Kate Reilly (girls)

Captains Awards: Arden Ziert (boys) and Emily Lacina (girls)

Punchy Reich Memorial: Arden Ziert (as picked by his teammates)

GNC All-Conference, boys: Presley Gutbrod, Arden Ziert and Sam Zastrow (Honorable Mention)

GNC All-Conference, girls: Rachael Reilly, Kate Reilly, Alli Palmer, Macey Mann (Honorable Mention) and Emily Lacina (Honorable Mention)

Most Valuable: Arden Ziert (boys) and Rachael Reilly (girls)

State Qualifier: Rachael Reilly

Service Awards: Bradd and Mary Bucks, Edgewater Country Club; Bridgette Reilly

JV Awards: John Mark Hawley (junior) and Arawen Alberg (sophomore)
