Barbara Augustine, age 88, of Tomahawk, passed away Nov. 11, 2021 at Tomahawk Health Services in Tomahawk.
Barb was born Dec. 17, 1932 in Marathon County to Lee and Bessie (Swope) Gordon. She married Walter Augustine on June 30, 1951 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Wausau. He passed away in 2016. Walter and Barb lived for many years in Wausau. Following retirement, they moved to the Tomahawk and Harshaw area. Together, they raised five children, Linda (Mike) Jarnagin, Ray (Rose) Augustine, Randy Augustine, Robin (Kay) Augustine, and Russell (Ann) Augustine. Barb is further survived by a sister, Nancy Wolfe, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; sister, Marjorie Hienrich; baby sister, Joan; and a brother, William Gordon.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Tomahawk Health Services for her care these many years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, 11 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marathon County. The Augustine family will receive friends at St. Mary Catholic Church Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m.
