Judith “Judy” R. Leggett, age 80, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Wis. Judy was born in Tomahawk on April 6, 1941, to the late Edward and Muriel (L’Abbe) Hildebrand. She was married to Jackie “Jack” Leggett on June 18, 1960; he survives.

Judy was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk, graduating as Salutatorian of the Tomahawk High School Class of 1958. In high school, Judy’s strong leadership qualities awarded her the opportunity to attend Badger Girls State. Her energies were later evident within the community as she spent countless hours volunteering for the Tomahawk Hockey Association, St. Mary’s Thrift Cellar, Tomahawk Food Pantry, and the Tomahawk Area Historical Society. Judy was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the pastoral council. Judy loved playing bridge and was involved with several clubs, including Duplicate Bridge Club, St. Mary’s Bridge Club Marathon, and the Neighborhood Bridge Club. She was an avid bowler who participated in several leagues. Judy loved to travel, especially camping trips with her family. She enjoyed visits to the casino and was a huge fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. As her family grew, she continued to support and encourage all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s endeavors. Judy’s vibrant personality and smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of over 61 years, Jackie “Jack” Leggett, of Tomahawk; two sons, Joseph Leggett, of Tomahawk, and Josh (Karla) Leggett, of Oshkosh, Wis.; two brothers, Thomas Hildebrand and David Hildebrand; and one sister, Roberta Meyer. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Justin (Becky), Jordan (Sara), Jack, and Miranda; and her great-grandchildren, Julius and Morgan Jay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Muriel; and her sons, Jerod and Jay Leggett.

Memorial services for Judith Leggett will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to the St. Mary’s Legacy Campaign.

Generations Funeral Home & Crematory, Tomahawk, is assisting the family. View Judy’s obituary and leave online condolences at www.generationsfuneral.com.
