Jack R. Carstensen

Jack R. Carstensen, age 83, of Tomahawk, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at his home under the care of his family and Compassus Hospice. Jack was born in Tomahawk on June 22, 1938, to the late Lawrence and Estelle (Vaughn) Carstensen. He was married to Marilyn Pfister on Aug. 30, 1957; she survives.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Tomahawk, graduating from Tomahawk High School in 1956. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. Jack returned to Tomahawk, where he owned and operated Carstensen Roofing & Painting for many years. He was later employed at Harley-Davidson, retiring in 2001. Jack was a family man who enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing the guitar, and was a Jeep enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Carstensen; his son, Scott (Linda) Carstensen; two daughters, Gina (Kenny) Kurth, and Shannon (Jack) Mikunda; two brothers, Lawrence “Chick” Carstensen, and Ward (Sandy) Carstensen; three sisters, Nesta (Rollie) Hodge, Myrtle “Mick” Silva, and Wilda (Steve) Skubal; and his sister-in-law, Mary Carstensen. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his kitty, Whiskers “Pookers”.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Estelle “Molly”; his brothers, Danny Carstensen and Dusty Carstensen; his brother-in-law, David Silva; and his sister-in-law, Carol Carstensen.

In accordance with Jack’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorials are appreciated to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
