TOMAHAWK – A community survey regarding the School District of Tomahawk’s search for a new administrator is available online.

The survey, which will be available through Nov. 19, includes questions concerning the overall quality of the School District of Tomahawk, the district’s communication with the community, fiscal responsibility, staff and the school board. Survey takers will also answer questions related to attributes desired in an administrator and the district’s financial priorities over the next five years.

“Your input is valuable and will be shared with the school board,” the district’s website states.

Along with a link to the survey, the district also provided information about the process to replace former administrator Terry Reynolds and posted dates for two informational community meetings.

Earlier this month, the district’s Board of Education put a timeline in place to recruit and hire a candidate to fill the position. Over the course of the next few months, Illinois-based education firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) will assist the board in finding candidates. After the applicant pool is narrowed to two to three finalists in Jan. 2022, the board will conduct final interviews in Feb. 2022, after which, the district’s new administrator will be selected.

The district has scheduled two informational meetings geared toward families and the community. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. The second meeting is slated for Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m., and will be held virtually via Zoom.

A link to the survey, more information about the district’s administrator hiring process and a link to join the virtual informational meeting can be found on the district’s website at www.tomahawk.k12.wi.us/district/superintendent-search.cfm.
