Tomahawk takes down Medford in thrilling Dig Pink match, sweeps Hodags in Rhinelander

Team raises over $1,500 for Ties That Bind Us

TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk Hatchet volleyball team took park in its Dig Pink event on Tuesday, Sept. 28, partnering up with Up North Nutrition to raise $1,490.00 for Ties That Bind Us. A 50/50 raffle raised an additional $231.00.

The varsity squad took on Medford and came away with a win after a five-set thriller. Scores were 23-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-18, and 15-12. Meghan Scholz led the team in blocks with five and kills with 18. Claire Albert led the team in digs with 18. Alyssa Zehner led the team with three aces, and Mackenzie Scholz finished the match with 43 assists.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, the varsity Hatchet spikers traveled to Rhinelander to take on the Hodags and earned a 3-0 win, by scores of 25-7, 25-21, and 25-16. Meghan Scholz led the team with 12 kills and two blocks, followed by Alyssa Zehner with 11 kills and one block. Macy Jankiewicz also had one block. Samantha Gebauer led the team with 10 digs, and Mackenzie Scholz and Emerson Lange led the team with two aces. Mackenzie Scholz finished the match with 28 assists.
