TOWN OF HARRISON – A woman died after an ATV crash in the Town of Harrison on Saturday, Sept. 11, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received at approximately 12:15 p.m., reporting a single-ATV crash involving a male and female. Lincoln County EMS, Russell First Responders, and Lincoln County deputies responded to the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office said the male, 38, was operating the UTV, and the woman, 51, was the passenger.

“They were traveling southbound on the public ATV trail west of County Rd. B in the Township of Harrison when the operator lost control of the ATV,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “The operator and passenger were ejected from the machine after colliding with a tree.”

The female passenger, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Jennifer L. Kaine of Wisconsin, was flown by helicopter to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The male operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither party was wearing a helmet, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
