Ruth V. Carlson-Schwab

Ruth V. Carlson-Schwab, age 83, of Tomahawk, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on Aug. 28, 2021, with her loving family at her side. Ruth was born on Feb. 23, 1938, to the late Sven Ivar and Maria Alena (Carlson) Karlsson. She was married to Walter Schwab in 1958; he preceded her in death in 2004. They shared 47 wonderful years together, raising their three children: Kathy (Mike) Johnson, of Tomahawk, Deb (Chris) Forslund, of Iron River, Wis., and Dan (Lauri) Schwab, of Rice Lake, Wis.

Ruth and Wally were enterprising people; they built and ran several successful businesses in Wisconsin and Arizona. Ruth loved her family very much, but especially her grandchildren who also survive her: Ryan Johnson of Tomahawk, Megan (Josh) Chelf, of Anchorage, AK, Chris (Kim) Haring, of Green Bay, Wis., Michelle (Kip) Korir, of Plano, Ill., Jessica (Jesse) Tesch, of Green Bay, Katie (Reggie) Ronning, of St. Paul, Minn., and Adam (Kristie) Schwab, of Hudson, Wis. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Brody and Jory Chelf, Ellie and Cora Haring, and Hallie Ronning, with two additional great-grandchildren on the way.

A celebration of life for Ruth Schwab will be held privately. Burial will take place next to her loving husband, Wally, at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital for their excellent compassion and care.
