James L. Crass, 91, of Cattail Lane in Irma, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Jim was born Aug. 31, 1929 in Tomahawk to Louis and Gertrude (Spelttstozer) Crass. He was married to Lorraine Meyer on Aug. 20, 1955 in Milwaukee; she passed away in May of 2019. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been the building and grounds superintendent at Lincoln Hills for 21 years. He was a former little league coach for Road Lake, an avid woodworker, and was a fan of all sports. Jim not only enjoyed hunting, but especially the shack hopping that went with it.
Surviving Jim Crass are his two children, Jim (Kim) Crass, Irma, and Mary Jo (Lee) Throm, Stevens Point; two grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica; two step grandchildren, Kyle and Abram; and a great-granddaughter, Wren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine and six siblings.
Memorial Service with Military Rites for Jim Crass was held on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at 11 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. The family received friends at the church Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m.
