TOMAHAWK – The School District of Tomahawk Board of Education accepted the “immediate voluntary retirement” of Administrator Terry Reynolds during a special meeting on Saturday, Aug. 27, board President Kay Kissinger Wolf said in a message to parents and guardians.

The board also voted to return to its policy of recommending, but not requiring, the wearing of masks in the school building.

Reynolds’ retirement came just weeks after he informed the board that he planned to retire at the end of the school year. The board accepted Reynolds’ retirement during its meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

The board voted to return to the policy recommending the use of face coverings just two days after Reynolds announced that all district students and staff would be required to wear masks when indoors on school grounds, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. The policy would have gone into effect on Monday, Aug. 30.

Kissinger Wolf said the board would go into a special closed session on Monday, Aug. 30 to “discuss an effective succession plan for our personnel,” noting that more information will be provided as it becomes available.

“Please know that we appreciate all of your efforts over the last year as we move forward into a new school year together,” she stated.
