Hatchet spikers earn road win over Ashland

ASHLAND – The Tomahawk Hatchet varsity volleyball team headed to Ashland on Tuesday, Aug. 24 and came away with a victory.

Both JV squads also earned wins.

The varsity Hatchets won in four sets by scores of 25-17, 25-21, 24-26, and 25-14. Meghan Scholz led the team with six aces and finished with seven kills. Katie Pierce led with four blocks and nine kills. Sam Gebauer finished with 10 digs, while Mackenzie Scholz finished with 28 assists.

The JV1 team won in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-16. Cayley Scholz had nine aces. Scholz, Chloe Buckwalter and Sadie Liebelt each had four kills to lead the team. Khianna Vacho led with five digs, while Caylie swan had 16 assists.

The JV2 squad also left Ashland with a three-set victory, with scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-15. Bella Marino had 17 aces, Kaylynn Sandry had eight aces and five kills, and Ella Uelman had five aces.
