TOMAHAWK – Milestone Senior Living is offering the opportunity to help local children head back to school with all the pencils, notebooks, and other supplies they need.

The “Stuff-A-Bus” summer campaign collects school supplies and small backpacks for children in need in local schools, Milestone explained. The supplies are delivered to the schools in late August, just before students return.

“The Stuff-A-Bus campaign depends on personal involvement from awesome people like you,” Milestone stated.

Milestone said those interested in contributing to their efforts can donate new school supplies at their designated collection sites, as well as help spread the word about the campaign through emails and social media.

“We can use a wide variety of new and surplus school supplies in the Stuff-A-Bus campaign,” Milestone stated, noting that all donated supplies must be new and safe for young children, using only non-toxic materials.

Milestone said it is seeking donations of the following supplies:

  • Small backpacks
  • Pencils (#2 with erasers)
  • Ballpoint pens
  • Notebooks and notebook paper
  • Rulers
  • Crayons (in box)
  • Pencil boxes
  • Three-ring binders
  • Highlighters
  • Colored pencils and pens
  • Erasers
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Glue sticks and white school glue

The donated supplies can be dropped off in designated collection boxes in the entryways of its locations in Tomahawk (314 E. Lincoln Ave.), Rhinelander, Eagle River, and Woodruff until Aug. 30.
