Tomahawk-area man killed in single-vehicle crash in Town of Bradley

TOMAHAWK – A Tomahawk-area man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Bradley, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday, July 13.

According to a release, on Monday, July 12, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a 911 call was received reporting a one-vehicle crash on County Highway CC west of Peaceful Valley Rd. The caller reported that he had found a single vehicle in the woods on the south side of County Highway CC and a single male subject that had been ejected from the vehicle and was deceased.

The victim was identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Nicholas Szymanski, 21, of the Tomahawk area.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigation indicates that Szymanski was traveling westbound on County Highway CC when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to negotiate a curve. As a result of the crash, Szymanski was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The actual time of the crash is unknown. Speed and alcohol are potential contributing factors, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash is being investigated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
