TOMAHAWK – “Something amazing happened” in the City of Tomahawk on Friday, June 25, Mayor Steven E. Taskay said.

In a post on his Mayor Steven Taskay Facebook page, Taskay explained that individuals from Remnant Fellowship and members of the Tomahawk community took it upon themselves to paint and repair cracks in the Tomahawk River Walk tunnel that runs underneath N. 4th St. from near Dairy Queen to Veterans Memorial Park.

In the post, Taskay gave a shoutout to Bernie Scholz, John and Pam Leist, George Jorgensen, Barb and Steve Kubichek, Kelly and Roxanne Consolver, and City of Tomahawk Parks Leadperson Steve Borem for their work on the tunnel.

“I want you to know that your hard work is not going unnoticed,” Taskay said. “I thank you and so do the citizens of Tomahawk.”
