LWVNOW meeting to focus on status of broadband in Northwoods

NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The June meeting of the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods (LWVNOW) will take place on Tuesday, June 8, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom and will be open to the public.

The meeting will feature a panel discussion focused on the current state of broadband internet in the Northwoods, what is being done, and what type of service can be expected in the future, according to a release from LWVNOW. Ben Meyer, Special Topics Correspondent at WXPR Public Radio, will moderate the discussion.

Featured on the panel will be Angie Close, Executive Director of Langlade County Economic Development Corp.; Kathy Schmitz, Executive Director of Vilas County Economic Development Corp.; Jeff Verdoorn, Executive Director of Oneida County Economic Development Corp.; and Bill Niemuth, President of Loss Mitigation Solutions, LLC, Director and Broadband Lead for Vilas County Economic Development Corp., and Vice-Chair of the Boulder Junction High Speed Broadband Committee.

Following the presentation, the panel will be available to answer questions.
