Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: May 24, 2021

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, May 24:

A Tomahawk man, 36, was arrested last Monday after a crash in the Town of Harrison. The man provided a false name to the deputy investigating the crash in order to avoid a warrant that had been issued in Marathon County Court.

A Tomahawk man, 23, was arrested Wednesday afternoon for outstanding warrants. The man was making an appearance in Lincoln County Court when a check showed he was wanted. The deputy assigned to courthouse security arrested the man for violating the terms of his probation and for a warrant for contempt of court in Oneida County.

An Illinois woman, 54, will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney on drug charges after a traffic stop Friday evening in the Town of Bradley. The woman was stopped on US Hwy. 51 at Kaphaem Rd. just after 9 p.m. The K9 Poncho alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle.

A Merrill man, 49, was injured Saturday morning after striking a deer with his motorcycle in the Town of Rock Falls. Deputies along with Merrill EMS responded to State Rd. 107 at Big Hill Rd. at 10 a.m.

A Schofield man, 29, was arrested Sunday morning on a criminal traffic charge. Deputies responded to US Hwy. 51 near County Rd. H in the Town of Birch for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The man was placed through field sobriety tests and arrested for a second offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Eleven people reported striking deer last week.
