Hatchet golfers take on conference rivals in road meets

EAGLE RIVER – The Tomahawk Hatchet golf team visited numerous conference rivals for meets recently.

Varsity at Medford, Rhinelander

Due to having only three golfers competing, the varsity squad did not record a team score in Northland Pines on Friday, May 14.

Lakeland walked away as the meet’s champions with a score of 317. Mosinee took second place with 352, followed by Northland Pines (359), Antigo (362), Rhinelander (369), and Medford (370).

Kaeden Nomm of Lakeland’s individual score of 72 was the meet’s best.

The varsity Hatchets headed to Medford on Monday, May 17, and took seventh place out of seven teams.

Gavin Palmer’s score of 106 was the best for the Hatchets, followed by Taje Casey with 113, Drew Myers with 115, and Drew Albert with 130.

Lakeland took first place in the meet with a score of 312, followed by Antigo (342), Mosinee and Northland Pines (350 each), Medford (355), Rhinelander (382), and Tomahawk (464).

Tomahawk was the only squad with four golfers competing, while each other team had five.

JV at Northland Pines

The JV Hatchet golfers competed in a meet hosted by Northland Pines on Thursday, May 20 and took seventh place out of seven teams.

Mosinee emerged as the meet’s champions with a team score of 181, followed by Northland Pines (205), Antigo (209), Lakeland (215), Medford (221), Rhinelander (237), and Tomahawk (246).

Mosinee’s Khoal Kelly’s score of 44 was the lowest of the meet. Owen Dickrell was the Hatchets’ top scorer, shooting a 48, followed by Drew Myers (65), Taje Casey (66), Drew Albert (67), and Gavyn Palmer and Joseph Jones (each with 68).

The JV squad is set to travel to Lakeland on Thursday, May 27.
