For the Tomahawk Leader
LINCOLN COUNTY – After 18 years with the Tomahawk Police Department, Tom Tollefson started a new chapter in his career when he joined the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in March.
Tollefson is a new addition to the patrol division, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
Tollefson is a Marshfield native, where he graduated from high school. He attended UW-La Crosse, receiving a Bachelor’s degree, and later completed his law enforcement recruit training at North Central Technical College.
While with the Tomahawk Police Department, Tollefson served as a DAAT instructor, EVOC instructor, firearms instructor, and as one of the agency’s K9 handlers.
“When asked what drew Tom to apply at the Sheriff’s Office, (Tollefson) explained that he felt Lincoln County had more opportunities to advance his career, and after working with most of the deputies, he felt it would be an easy transition,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Tollefson currently lives in Lincoln County with his wife and three children.
“If you see Tom out and about, make sure and say hello and welcome him to our agency,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
