Cecelia “Susie” Kuhrt, age 75, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away on May 6, 2021 in Arizona.

Susie was born on Dec. 24, 1946 in the Philippines. She met Kenneth Kuhrt during Vietnam while she was working as a nurse during the war at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. She moved from the Philippines to Milwaukee to marry Kenneth. Together they had three children. Susie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant before furthering her education and earning her Registered Nursing Degree. Susie and Kenneth would spend their winters in Las Vegas and their summers in Hazelhurst until he passed away in 2007. After Kenneth passed away, Susie moved in with her daughter Theresa and her family. Together they lived in Las Vegas, San Diego, Chandler, Ariz., and Hazelhurst. Susie enjoyed going fishing with her family and loved to go out on the Willow Flowage. She enjoyed singing karaoke with her friends and shopping with her daughter. Susie loved traveling on the road, especially her trips to Disneyland and Disney World with her granddaughters.

Susie is survived by her daughter – Theresa (Steve) Downing of Hazelhurst; her son – Kenneth Kuhrt Jr. of Fredonia; and her daughter-in-law – Becky Evard. She is further survived by her grandchildren – Aurelia, Jacob, Hadley and Harper. Susie is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son – George B. Kuhrt.

In accordance with Susie’s wishes, she will be buried next to her husband at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.

Krueger Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Tomahawk, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
