GREEN BAY – Multi Media Channels (MMC) will launch a new local community shoppers’ guide in central Wisconsin.
The inaugural issue of the Wittenberg Northerner Buyers’ Guide is set to publish on May 6, 2021. The Northerner will be U.S. Mail delivered to approximately 10,000 homes in about a 20-mile radius around Wittenberg, which lies roughly 25 miles east of the metro Wausau area.
“We are excited to start a new publication in this area of the state, where so many people have always relied on a solid community shopper’s guide to stay informed on community events and happenings as well as giving a means for local small businesses to reach a vast audience of potential buyers,” said Patrick Wood, publisher.
Jay and Judy Freiberg will assist with producing the new publication. Most people living in this area of the state know Jay and Judy. Judy has sold newspaper advertising for over 40 years in multiple local papers. The couple has been publishing the Center State Marketplace for the past five-plus years.
When Jay and Judy decided to retire and cease publishing the Center State Marketplace at the end of April, MMC contracted with them as consultants to help launch the Northerner.
“Their long history of working with the businesses in this area in such a positive manner should make advertisers rest assured that MMC will carry on publishing a quality, affordable product that is very similar to what they are already familiar with,” Mr. Wood explained. “I guess we are delaying their retirement for just a little while, but we certainly appreciate their expertise.”
MMC began its work in community newspaper publishing in Denmark, Wis., in 1953. Under the leadership of founder, Frank Wood, the business expanded into other markets. Today, the company remains in the Wood family, working with 48 media properties– including 25 weeklies, four magazines, and 19 digital channels – that serve the central, northern, and eastern portions of Wisconsin.
