Hatchet middle school tracksters compete in Rhinelander

RHINELANDER – The Tomahawk Middle School track and field team traveled to Rhinelander on Thursday, April 29 to compete in a five-team meet.

The Hatchets took on Mosinee, James Williams MS, Medford, and Three Lakes. The girls finished in third place, while the boys finished in fourth.

Placing in the top three were the following: 4 x 800m relay, Ali Palmer, Ella Peissig, Kylie Peissig, Lydia Shaney – 1st; 100m dash – Alicia Voermans – 2nd; 400m run – Beau Stromberg – 3rd; 800m run – Elise Gibeault – 1st, Kylie Peissig – 3rd; 200m dash – Alicia Voermans – 3rd, Caleb Vandeweerd – 2nd; high jump – Beau Stromberg – 3rd; pole vault – Alicia Voermans – 1st, Sophie Maki – 3rd, Trevor Schumann – 2nd, Caleb Vandeweerd – 3rd; triple jump – Trevor Schumann – 3rd; discus – Shelby Borowski – 3rd.

The Hatchet tracksters will host a meet at home at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 20.
