Chad Grube wins third Tomahawk ‘Bowler of the Year’ title

TOMAHAWK – Chad Grube was named Tomahawk’s 2021 Bowler of the Year for the third time after taking first place in the 43rd annual Top 10 Rolloff at Strikers Tomahawk Bowl on Monday, April 19.

Grube also won the title in 2012 and 2019.

The Top 10 Rolloff is a 10-game individual match play tournament. Invited are the top 10 high average bowlers from the recently concluded league bowling season. All entrants carried 200+ averages.

The winning bowler in each match earns 30 bonus points. Bowlers are awarded one point for each pin their game score is over 200, but lose a point for each pin below 200 in a game score.

Lefthander Grube asserted his dominance in the competition, winning all five of his matches and averaging a hefty 247.8 in the process. Grube’s overall average was 240.8, with a matchplay record of 9-1.

Finishing in fourth place was Steve Kahle, who has qualified for and bowled in 42 of the 43 Top 10 events. The Iron Man has won three titles, taking the top spot in 1995, 2001, and 2013.
