TOMAHAWK – Imagine planning to say “I do” to the man of your dreams – and COVID-19 putting an end to it.

A year later, these plans were put into motion, and nothing was going to stop Jim and Jean Wurster from saying their vows without having her proud parents, Joe and Loretta Swan, witnessing.

The Swans reside at Milestone Senior Living in Tomahawk. Friends and family gathered out on the lawn, forming a human aisle for the beautiful bride to be escorted towards her parents, future husband, his parents, Jim and Carol Stromberg, and Pastors Dennis and Wendy Mannering. Some tears were shed, but they were happy tears.

The staff at Milestone had a wonderful time decorating the patio and surprising the “wedding party.”

“We knew there was divine intervention when the forecast called for rain, but for the ceremony the sun was shining, and the birds were singing. We were able to get a picture of the Swans and the newlyweds due to COVID vaccinations,” said Milestone Life Enrichment Coordinator Julie Thompson. “What a great Dare to Dream come true.”
