WHITEWATER – Kaleb Kaminski, a native of Tomahawk and member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team, was one of seven Warhawks named to the 2020 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society by the NFF and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Kaminski is majoring in occupational safety at UW-Whitewater.
Linebacker Kaminski, wide receiver Matt Aikin (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North), offensive lineman Ryan Berg (DePere, Wis./DePere), offensive lineman Lonnie Chambers (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence), defensive back Bobby Desherow (Wilmette, Ill./Loyola Academy), offensive lineman Kyle Gannon (Waukesha, Wis./West), and offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) were rewarded for their athletic and academic success as members of the honor society.
The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of student-athletes from all divisions of college football who maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average during their college careers. Members must have completed their final year of athletic eligibility and be of senior academic standing.
A total of 910 student-athletes from 255 schools qualified for membership in the society’s 15th year of existence.
All seven honorees helped the Warhawks finish as national runner-up in 2019 after reaching Stagg Bowl XLVII for the program’s 10th appearance in the NCAA Division III championship game. The team posted a 13-2 record and claimed the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title with a 6-1 league record.
