Mary (Martin) Ikeler

Mary (Martin) Ikeler, 64, passed away on April 17, 2021 after a courageous four-year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.

Mary was born on Sept. 15, 1956 in Milwaukee to Rosemary “Dawn” (Majerus) Cressy and Gustav Martin.

As a child, Mary lived in Tomahawk. She returned in 1991 to raise her family. She was employed at Mr. Bill’s Supper Club and went on to co-own two taverns for close to 20 years. Mary managed the Harrison Oasis up until 2017, when she had to close the doors to focus on her health. Mary loved chatting with all of her customers over the years and listening to them sing karaoke.

Mary collected angels and loved hummingbirds. She loved her coffee and had a lot of pride in her home. She enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and friends, including having coffee most mornings with her friend Lee. Mary loved to dance and never hesitated to be the first one out on the dance floor. Her love for music and dancing was infectious.

Mary is survived by her daughters – Dawn (Scott) Martin-Minger, Nicole (Joe) Strassman and Andrea (Derek) Ikeler; her son – Scott Martin; one sister – Dixie (Stephen) Flannery. She is further survived by seven grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers – Jerry Martin and Gustav Martin, one daughter – Krystal Hayward and grandson – Damin Martin.

A private funeral will be held at Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk. In accordance with Mary’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at Road Lake Pub and Grill on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 4 p.m. for friends and family.
