VFW Post 2687 recognizes Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School for Honor Flight donation

VFW Post 2687 in Tomahawk recognized students at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School in Rhinelander for raising over $1,000 for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

Each of the school’s 145 students was given a 4” by 6” stick flag, and the school received copies of flag etiquette booklets for classrooms.

This is the second year the school has raised money for the Honor Flight. Last year, Nativity of Our Lord, St. Mary’s School of Tomahawk, St. Francis Xavier of Merrill, and Holy Rosary of Medford took part in a penny war and collected over $4,000, enough to send four veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the memorials that honor their service.
