One arrested, two at large after vehicle pursuits in Merrill

MERRILL – One man is in custody and two suspects remain at large after Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in two pursuits in Merrill in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 25.

According to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a pursuit began at about 1 a.m. after a deputy “located three suspicious vehicles at a storage unit north of Merrill.”

The vehicles fled when the deputy attempted to make contact.

“The deputy pursued one of the vehicles and advised other responding deputies of the other two,” the release stated. “Another deputy located a second vehicle and another pursuit ensued. Both pursuits ended in the Merrill city limits, where the drivers exited their vehicles and fled on foot.”

A Merrill man, 36, was located and arrested on a felony charge of fleeing, two counts of felony bail jumping, and a probation hold.

Two vehicles were held as evidence. A third vehicle was later located in a rural area north of Merrill and also held.

Two suspects remain at large, and the investigation remains active, the Sheriff’s Office said.
