RHINELANDER – Those considering attending Nicolet College will have the month of April to explore the numerous opportunities and services available that lead to becoming a college graduate, Nicolet announced last week.
“This is a great opportunity for people to learn about Nicolet College in an individualized way that fits around their schedules,” said Katie Ourada, Nicolet admissions manager. “One of the best features of a virtual visit is that people can explore what the college has to offer when it works best for them and also access the information as often as they want.”
The event will run from April 5 to April 30 and will include video presentations by instructors from many different academic programs, along with how to navigate the admissions process, information on the many different types of financial assistance that is available through the college, and the numerous different support services offered to students.
The college is also offering individualized on-campus visits, Ourada noted.
“There’s nothing like walking the campus, seeing the facilities, and getting a feel for what the college is like,” she stated. “For those who attend the College Visit virtual event, we will encourage them to come to campus on their own to see in person all of the great things they learned about in our virtual event.”
Individualized campus tours can be scheduled by visiting www.nicoletcollege.edu/admissions/visit-us and clicking on the Register for a Campus Tour link. Incoming students can also use that link to schedule a virtual or in-person admissions appointment with an admissions advisor.
Everyone on campus is required to follow the college’s COVID-19 guidelines, which include wearing a face covering when indoors and maintaining at least six feet of physical distancing at all times.
Summer Term begins May 7, with numerous other start dates throughout the year for Nicolet MyWay academic programs. The full list of summer classes can be found at www.nicoletcollege.edu/summer. Applying for admission is free.
Nicolet offers more than 60 different college credentials, ranging from short-term certificates to two-year associate’s degrees. The college also has numerous credit transfer agreements with four-year institutions for those interested in earning a bachelor’s degree. These agreements are with every campus in the University of Wisconsin System, including UW-Madison, and many private colleges and universities.
“What many students do is start by earning a certificate, use that to get a job in their field of choice, and also continue taking classes to earn a more advanced credential,” Ourada explained. “That way they’re earning money, gaining valuable work experience, and setting themselves up for advancement in their careers by gaining more skills in Nicolet classes.”
