Dewaine ‘Dewey’ Bellile

Dewaine “Dewey” Bellile, age 80, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 8, 2021.

He was born in the Town of Bradley outside of Tomahawk on May 30, 1940 to Bernice Halverson. Dewey graduated from Merrill High School in 1958. As a gifted athlete with the Bluejays, he was recognized for his accomplishments by being selected as a Silver M Club member. He was married to Carmen Brikowski on June 27, 1959. Together they raised three children: Jeff, Sue, and Tina. Dewey worked at the Tomahawk Paper Mill (now PCA) for 41 years. The last 31 years he served as a Paper mill Supervisor, retiring in 2000.

As a talented builder, Dewey custom built three homes, all on Lake Nokomis, that he and his family enjoyed immensely. All his children and grandchildren were taught by him, at a very young age, to water ski.

Dewey loved his fishing trips to Canada, snowmobiling, Friday night fish frys, watching Packer and Badger games and breakfast with his buddies at Tomahawk Family Restaurant. Benny knew that Dudsy and Dewey would be meeting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and the order would be “biscuits and gravy with two eggs on top!”

Dewey’s most treasured times were spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. His grand puppies also held a special place in his heart: Rayna, Maddie, Mikey, Winnie, and Doc. The endless kisses from all of these fur babies brought many smiles. Of course, Bobbi, Dewey and Carmen’s cat, brought endless enjoyment to him, too.

Dewey is survived by his wife – Carmen Bellile; two daughters – Susan Bellile of Tomahawk and Tina (Tom) Warzyn of Sunset, S.C. Dewey is further survived by his grandchildren – Michael (Haley) Bellile, Rhinelander, Heather (Jessie) Tobias, Tomahawk, Jenna Fuhs, Delafield, and Danielle Fuhs, Charleston, S.C.; a great granddaughter – Madi Tobias; a niece – Beth Brikowski (Maya and Lily), and nephews – David (Karen) Bellile and Darin (Joan) Bellile. He is preceded in death by his mother – Bernice Halverson, a son – Jeff and brother – Darel.

The visitation for Dewey Bellile took place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk. The Memorial Service was private.
