Girl Scouts deliver cards, candy to older adults in Tomahawk area

For the Tomahawk Leader

TOMAHAWK – Three local Girl Scout Troops distributed cards and candy around the Tomahawk community for Valentine’s Day as part of the Girl Scouts’ involvement in AARP’s Wish of a Lifetime.

Wish of a Lifetime partnered up with Girl Scouts’ Cupid Crew 2021, “a volunteer-driven effort to create cards and safely send some love to tens of thousands of older adults,” the Girl Scouts said.

Junior Troop 7218 delivered to Tomahawk Health Services, Riverview Health Services, and Country Terrace. The troop, made up of Avery Suchomel, Mya Loka, and Madyson Horwath, made 95 cards, 83 kisses, and 44 s’mores kits.

Cadette Troops 7227 and 7212 wrote cards to be distributed around the area with Meals on Wheels last week.
