Gregory T. Carew

Gregory T. Carew, age 57, of Oxford, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Greg was born in Tomahawk on Feb. 5, 1963, to the late Richard and Lois (Paulson) Carew. He was married to Lynda Amos on Jan. 4, 1982; she survives.

Greg spent most of his childhood in Tomahawk until his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1976. He graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1981 and was married to Lynda in 1982. They started their family where all boys were born in Alaska and later moved back to Tomahawk in 1987.

Greg was employed at Amoco, Chevron, Hilgy’s, and Stainless Specialist before opening and operating Premier Heating and Cooling in 2003. He recently retired and moved to Florida, where Greg and Lynda enjoyed many days visiting Disney World. His passion was golfing. He, along with his father-in- law, were fortunate to have played at all 12 championship golf courses and 36 executive golf courses in The Villages. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved talking football with his sons and beating them in a friendly game of pickle ball. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, sharing his fun sense of humor with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of many years, Lynda Carew, of Oxford; four sons, Jason (Jennifer) Carew, of Wausau, Wis., Jeremy Carew, of Oxford, Joseph (Jamie) Carew, of Tomahawk, and Joshua (Sheena) Carew, also of Tomahawk; three sisters, Leslie Dalbeck, of Anchorage, Linda (Gary) Briner, of Tomahawk, and Lori (Nick) Nicholas, of Fayetteville, N.C.; and his mother and father-in-law, Jewel and Dennis Tweeten. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Isla, Stella, Jackson, Rocco, Finley, Kingston, Caiden, Jordyn, and Oliver.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Lois.
