Chester Alan Bell

Chester Alan Bell, age 75, of Aurora, Colo., passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, in hospice care. Chet was born to Elmer C. Bell and Harriet Whiting Bell on Nov. 29, 1945 in Merrill, Wis. His family moved in 1948 to Tomahawk, where he lived until he graduated from Tomahawk High School in the class of 1964. He was a fun-loving, outgoing student who especially loved THS football.

Chet earned an associate degree in electronics at NCTI in 1966 and served in the U.S Air Force as a weapons control systems supervisor and instructor. His service included deployment to Thailand with the Pacific Air Forces during the Vietnam War. In 1973, he was cited for meritorious service and received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal. He served with the U.S. Air Force until 1987 and enjoyed the remainder of his career as a real estate agent in the greater Denver area.

Chet was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer C. Bell in 2000, and Harriet Whiting Bell in 2009. He will be missed by his family and friends, including: wife Margot Howerton of Aurora; sister Sheryle (Terry) Gavin of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; daughter Tammy Bell Metzger and nieces Emily Kujak and Sarah Gavin Downs.
