Nancy Louise McDougall

Nancy Louise McDougall passed away peacefully from COVID-19 on Jan. 13, 2021 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Tomahawk.

She was born May 3, 1927 to Dr. Harry and Grace Gearheart in Grove City, Penn. Louise married her high school sweetheart Homer Boyd (Mac) McDougall in 1950, who preceded her in death in Nov.2003. They lived together in Lima, Ohio for 15 years before moving to Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., with their three sons Stephen, Scott, and Brian. The family spent time between Wisconsin Rapids and “the cottage” in Lac du Flambeau, Wis., for many years. Louise loved outdoor activities, especially skiing and tending the gardens at home and the cottage. She loved to travel, participating in church-related activities, and was an avid reader. She was a Stephen’s Minister and a member of the Church of the Pines in Minocqua, Wis., and First Presbyterian Church in Haines City, Fla., her church home. Between raising three boys, working at the library, and teaching, Louise traveled the world with her husband. Mac and Louise moved to Winter Haven, Fla., after Mac retired. The three sons traveled to the winter home with their families during holidays. Louise and Mac were the consummate loving hosts to beloved sons, family, and all who visited.

Louise is survived by her three sons and their wives, Steve and Deb McDougall, Scott and Susan McDougall, Brian and Abby McDougall, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

There will be a small virtual ceremony for the family. Per Louise’s wishes, the family will have a graveside service in Florida in the future when people can safely assemble. They will notify loved ones when the service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church home: First Presbyterian Church, Haines City, Fla.

Krueger Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Tomahawk, assisted the family with arrangements.
